    Cover Plates

Matching Short or Tall Cover Plates
If you're putting the Oracode 660K on a new door that has no holes drilled into it, you will not need this.

What are the cover plates for?  If you have an existing door with a knob or lever in the 'bottom hole' and a deadbolt lock in the 'top hole,' you will need a cover plate to reside 'behind' the Oracode 660K (installs in bottom hole) to cover the top hole.  How do I determine whether I need a short or tall cover plate?  Glad you asked, it's easy!  Simply measure the vertical distance between the two holes.  If it's 5 inches to 6 1/4 inches (most doors) you need the short plates.  If it's a 6 1/4 inches to 8 inches you need the tall plates.  If the distance is less than 5 inches or greater than 8 inches, you also do not need any plates.

    Price:  $38.00   (Includes 2 plates)

    FAQ's

Q:  How are the locks wired?
A:  It's not wired to anything other than itself.  A small cable runs through the door connecting the front of the lock to the back of the lock.  The lock itself runs on 4 AA batteries and does not need external power to operate.

Q:  Do the locks communicate via wireless signals?
    A:  No, it is a stand-alone unit.

Q:  Does this system need to have a local computer networked to the lock(s)?
A:  No.  The lock does not need to "communicate" with any other equipment or system.  The only time you may need to communicate with the lock is to retrieve an audit trail of past entries, using a palm pilot.  (We can sell you the Palm Pilot to retrieve audit information for $180.00 - please call if interested!)

Q:  How long does it take and how difficult is it to install this electronic lock?
A:  The first time you install this lock it may take you 40 minutes, after that probably 15-20 minutes.  Not difficult at all, and the lock comes with easy to follow instructions, door prep template, and strike position locator.  We even have a dedicated locksmith on stand by if you need it - simply call us toll free!

Q:  What’s entailed in replacing lock cores if a master key is stolen or lost?
A:  The Oracode 660K has a removable core for exactly this reason that can be replaced the same as any other lock.

Q:  What about the risk of Internet down time?
A:  Interruption to internet access is usually local or at most regional.  If this happens, call us and we will have a technicial generate codes for you.  We also suggest you generate "emergency codes" in advance, say every 6 months.  Other than that, the server is the most secure and reliable in the world.  In the case of a major Internet failure or other type of emergency all Keyless locks have a traditional key capability which you can use to open the door.

Q:  How often will I need to change the batteries?
    A:  About every 3 years.
